I have seen on the web a really nice Polish Radon pistol in a 9mm. It is called a RAD08. Would I, as a regular citizen be able to legally purchase such a pistol, and if so under what terms and conditions? I am assuming this fits in ask the experts as there should be only one correct answer but if I'm wrong, I apologize and know the powers that be will move this respectful inquiry. Finally, I thank in advance anyone who can help me in this endevor, or kill my dream.

If you are a resident of the US, generally private citizens are allowed to purchase firearms. Certain states and cities have laws that restrict this ownership. To Google your location relative to owning a handgun would be your first step. If you find that your location allows such ownership, then you need to locate a FFL firearms dealer locally that would be willing to run the purchase through his books. Most dealers charge a fee ranging from $20-$50 dollars for this service. Only FFL dealers can ship pistols from state to state. If you have no local laws prohibiting ownership, you can also legally purchase a firearm face to face (FTF) if you are over 21 years of age.
Incidently, the RAD08 probably refers to the mfg, (Radom) and the cartridge which refers to the Luger (08) pistol in 9M/M. I would also have someone on this site familiar with that pistol authenticate it, as they are both pricey and have been deemed scarce enough to be altered. Good luck.

I had assumed that you were referring to the WWII Radom pistol, not something modern. I also was generalizing about how to purchase a pistol for someone in your position.

Well, the rub is that I do not know if anyone at the present time imports it to the United States. I know that the pistol is made in Poland, and I want it for sentimental reasons (guess who is Polish?). I kinda assumed that the reason that Foreign labeled guns could be sold in the USA was because there were production facilities in the USA. Otherwise the Firearms ban would hold, except for the relics and curios. BUT I DON'T KNOW THIS, I JUST ASSUMED IT.

Do you mean the gun shown at:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MAG-95
    ?

The last version of the MAG 95 is the MAG 08 made in Radom, Poland.

A friend has a MAG 95, so there are at least a few of the earlier model in the USA.

Fireams may be imported by an 08 FFL (Importer). It is POSSIBLE to import firearms from some countries without being an importer, but the paperwork is of mythical proportions.

Since they are so unusual, any ideas of how to establish an offer price for one?

Pick something similar. Then double the price. (Gun + Shipping/Import fee)

Now, that sounds harsh, but you will have to go through the import hassles (unlikely-you will give up on that idea soon into it), or get one domestically, and that involves dilligence, as my take is that you can't find one here.

Best if you remain dilligent, and continue to search on a routine basis to see if one pops up for sale here in the US.

    Good Luck! Joe

This will sound odd, but check Green Bay Wisconsin, as well as Milwaukee, Racine and other local papers near there, also South Bend Indiana and Elkhart. Either place an add looking for a MAG 95/Radom 08 in the local papers, or use the local paper (can likely get those on-line) to find shooting clubs in the areas mentioned. All the areas mentioned are places I picked up or sold WZ29's and other Polish arms or things with the Eagle on them. The Poles are proud, avid collectors; get ready to pay big as these guys really like the Eagle!

Also, are you sure it's the MAG 95/Radom 08 you want? Is it the VIS 35 Radom pistol or the 80's reissue you want? Anything on your list here will be expensive, although the VIS 35 reissue is something like $2000, so perhaps you would want to start with something Communist era? I have a perfect M44 and a Tokarev also from arsenal 11 both from, I believe, 1951 that I picked up years ago cheap. The M44 was $150 ,unissued, and the TT33 with 2 matching mags was $110. People have now figured out that the Com-bloc stuff was a great bargain, so NEITHER of those guns in that condition are going to come your way for the money I paid, but keep your nose to the grindstone...fate favors the prepared.

I just saw some Polish Makarov copies for sale by one of the importers, maybe JGSales?

Those are unusual because they were stamped from sheet metal.
