Ruger MKII fiber optics sight - tapered

A friend has a Ruger MKII 6 7/8" tapered barrel "target" model and is looking for a fiber optic sight set. The only one's I've found on the net are for the Bull barrel.

Any advice or know where one can be had?

He is a machinist, so he can make one fit if he has to, but that would not be his choice.

As always, thanks for any input.

Contact the customer service folks at Brownells. If anybody would have one in stock, or be knowledgeable about if the front sights were interchangeable it would be them.

Well, since that sight is an integral part of the barrel(one of the glitches in that Ruger design), he is going to have to make use of his talent as a machinist. He will have to drill a very small hole from the front of the front sight to the back of the front sight, and just under the top edge of the sight. Before he does that, he should measure the width of the sight, and get the smallest fiber optic pipe he can to fit. You can usually find them in archery shops, or large sporting good stores that handle archery equipment. You actually clip the light pipe a little longer than you need...about 1/8 inch, then hit one end with a lighter, insert it into the hole thru the sight, then hit the other end with the lighter...wella...you have your fiber optic sight.
