While visiting my mother, she gave me another one of my late fathers weapons. It is a: J C Higgins, 22 cal, Rev. Seems to be in pretty good condition.

Anybody know about this weapon? Worth? Rarity? When it was made?

Thanks for the help.

Well, thats what I kinda thought. In fact why can they not write it off as a non weapon, when the Bolt is gone. Or why cant they bend it over something and ruin it.
On the other hand , I do not wish any bad vibes over this, Just wondered if the guy is telling me the straight dopr. Said Feds wont stand for a shop to consign a gun to scrap? Doesnt sound just right to me. Whew , sometimes Im kinda dumb

Can anyone give me an idea how much a model 30 JC Higgins 22 rifle is worth?

Hello I was just reading about a JC Higgins bolt action possibly being unsafe to fire. I recently acquired my dads pump action JC Higgins model 20-126A Sears, Roebuck And Co. 583.60. I have already had it re-blued at the local gun store. I know it's not a bolt action but I just wanted to make sure it is safe to fire. I only plan to shoot this a few times a year, 4-July, New Years. Thanks for your input.

When in doubt about something like this, take your shotgun to a gunsmith.

Never heard of a Sears Pump Gun going bad....Whoever did the Blue Job {if a Professional} would have said someting to the contrary if Seen....But...the err on the side of caution...Take it to a Gunsmith for an evaluation.....
