Would appreciate any experience with the Federal Ordnance M14 made with chinese parts. Are they good quality or something else. Any info would be appreciated.

I've heard some fairly ill reports concerning the quality of these guns but like all reports on less expensive guns, a degree of scepticism is likely in order! There were some problems with the heat treating and parts interchangeability was rumored to be a little touchy! If you aren't looking at paying too much for one though, I might think about picking one up and trying to have it re heat treated by a good smith! That being said, look at it in the area of common failure to see if it looks O.K. or not and proceed accordingly!

I owned one (briefly), & it was the poorest quality gun I have ever owned. The receiver is soft, & the op rod will quickly gouge the metal in the receiver's op rod channel. The parts are crudely cast & WAY off milspec, & the stock looks like it was made in a middle school shop class.

There is nothing good about this rifle, & no amount of gunsmithing can make it serviceable. Avoid at all cost.
