I would just would like a ball park figure on a Winchester Model 70 (pre-64) Target rifle. Bull barrel, Redfield International sights, .308 perfect condition. This was my late father's competition rifle. I am relaying his written description although it looks brand new to me. My brothers and I are not looking to sell it but just wanted to have some idea of its real market value in case one of us wants to buy it from the others. I cannot find one like it for sale anywhere.

Capt'n Kirk is always on the mark and as he said, I think that figure MIGHT be a bit conservative by perhaps $200. In 308 it would make a fine competition rifle for anyone interested in the 600 event. I would likely fight it out with my brothers on that one and if possible to use the share of your Dads' estate, and it did not cost you out of pocket, I would come to an agreement with them so I could keep it!

Absolutely keep that rifle if you have any interest in pre 64's. As far as I am concerned, they are the premier rifle for shooting, and history. What a great gun to be able to hand down to your grand children! I'm jealous!
