I have inherited an old handgun. It is a Young America 38 Special. Can anyone tell me anything about it? I am interested in its value and want to sell it or trade up for a newre semi-automatic.

    H&R Saturday night special.
Value $50 to $100 depending on condition
    It is 38 S&W not 38 Spl
    Disc 1942

A lot of these Suicide specials in 38cf have bored through cylinders that will allow you to chamber a 38 Spl but it would be a mistake to shoot it with anythjing other than the 38S&W.

Thanks for the help. I thought it was sort of a Saturday night special. It looks pretty flimsey. The cylindar seems to float around when the trigger is pulled and it doesn't line up with the barrel and lock into place wben it seems like it should. The only time I fired it I tied it to a tree with a string around the trigger and took cover just to be safe. It fired ok but seemed to have some blast coming from that area. Once again, thanks
