this is my first post and i hope i can get some good info. I am a southpaw looking for a left handed bolt action in either 30-06 or 300 win mag (currently shoot ruger m77 mk2 7 rem mag) with a heavy barrel and synthetic stock. Do I just need to go directly to custom shop? I've looked around and would like to nez browning eclipse but they don't make that rifle in a lefty. any thoughts. thanks.

try this http://www.rifle-stocks.com/ they make left handed stocks for browning, they also have close outs starting at around $100.00 hope this helps. if you find any other places you might want to post them in the general discussion forum. Ed

it's not the type of gun you have in the heat of a battle that counts, only if you have enough ammo for it, lets face it, a gun without ammo is only as good as a base ball bat!!

I went to my favorite gun shop and had them order me one in. If you can also check on here, there are a few left handed bolt actions for sale in the auctions.

Remington makes their BDL, LSS, and VS rifles in left hand versions.

I have a Rem 700 VS, left hand in .223. Its a nice accurate gun. I like it so much, I plan to get another one in .308.

Click on "rifles- bolt action" then left hand.

I know Weatherby makes lefties too; examined one at a gun show in, I believe, .300 WM.

Look under "left hand" here on GB. You'll find a ton of Savage lefties, as well as Brownings, Rugers, Rems., and Sako and probably others. It isn't such a lonely world for south paws as even 10 years ago.

I am left handed and shoot a Weatherby Mark V in 300WM. Great gun. I was at Weatherby's one day on Firestone in Southgate and they had one on the blem rack and they made me a great deal. It shoots dime sized groups at 100 yards.
