Nikon Reticles

I'm looking at possibly purchasing a Nikon scope with the illuminated mil dot reticle. I've been warned that the only portion of the reticle that is actually lit-up is one MOA mil dot in the center as an aim point. Can anyone confirm this? I've searched the net for examples of Nikon's reticles and can't find any showing the illuminated mil dot.

Welcome to the board Rainbird. -- I've seen pictures somewhere of the whole crosshair area (all the dots)lit up, and in your choice of red or green color on some scopes. Try Nikons website if you haven't and check out some of the auctions on gunbroker in optics. Sometimes they have pictures of the reticles in the scopes that are for sale -- also look at the ads in gun magazines for examples..........good luck......[8D]
