Witness 10mm or 45?

I'd appreciate some opinions on whether I'd be better off getting the 10mm or 45 for carry and all-around use. Thanks.

The 10mm has much more power than the 45acp. The Witness 45acp can be had in more configurations than the 10mm. ie the 45 can be had with a polymer frame, wonder or blued in compact and full size. The 10mm comes in wonder or blued in compact and full size. I like and own the 10mm. My 2 cents [8D]

45 hardball will do the trick everytime. Depends on your preference when you get right down to it.

Either would make a great carry/defense gun, but when you ask about "all-around use" I think it depends what you mean by that. If all around is bear country, I'd rather take my chances with a magful of 10mm, which has characteristics closer to the .41 magnum than the .44 special. But if all around means utility and somewhat closer ranges, then the .45 ACP has plenty of loads from snakeshot to +p with a bit less stress on the gun or your wrist, somewhat less noise, and probably lighter carry weight (even the polymer-framed Glocks have heavier slides than their .45ACP cousins). I have guns in both cartridges, and will carry either and feel good about it.

Take the 10mm and never wonder again... The 10mm has more energy and velocity at 100 yards than the .45 acp has at the muzzle...

The 10mm - either you've got it, or you don't get it...
