Ithaca 1911 value

Serial # 509XXX, 75-80% Blue, modern grips and magazine. Stamped Ithaca Firearms on slide, Property of US on the frame. No rust, bore is clean.

    My dad has a usgi ithaca 1911, won't sell it to me for less than 400. I told him an SA might get him 400, but he says no.
    Anybody want to comment on this one?

    Are you sure this is not a 1911 A-1? I was issued an A-1 in Korea, made by Ithaca. If it is Good or better sounds like a deal to me.

    There's no way to tell what your Dad has without more details. However, Ithaca did not make any M1911's, only M1911A1's.

    Even if it has mixed parts &/or been refinished, it's worth $400. That is, unless it's been nickel plated or mutilated in some other way.

    Old folks, gotta love 'em!!

    It's in a 1917 Perkins Cambell? well worn holster. And it's a 1911A1 US Army marked ser #88xxxx. Nice little round brass U S marked, crossed swords, serial numbered badge on holster, though.

    I think he's going to take 300, I should be nice though.

    Any original U. S. service pistol by any military contractor, either Model 1911 or Model 1911A1, in good original and correct condition, is worth far more than $300 to $400. Depending on the condition of the holster, it could be worth $100 or more. Considering all the money and effort your father put into raising you, maybe your conscience will dictate that you pay fair market value, which would be in the $1,000 range, give or take depending on condition and details.
