A friend has a Browning shotgun. Appears to be an A-5 12guage. Only visable marking are... Browning Arms Company on left side of receiver with a serial # B255XX. Barrel has the usual Browning Arms Company St. Louis MO. What is the date of manufacture? Where was it made? Gun is in heavily used but original condition with about 15 to 20% of the bluing left. What is it worth?

Everyone has a photographic memory. Only some have film.

    Hello,

Your friend has a Remington made "American Browning". These were made during the latter part of WW II (FN in Belgium was shut down due to the War). Browning contracted with Remington to continue production of their bread-n-butter gun. Value in the condition you describe is very low... $100 - $150.
