When did they start putting the warning on the gun? I have a mark 1 without the warning and a mark 2 with the warning. The mark 1 is 98-99%. What are this guns going for?
Thanks

Take a look at the auction there are usually several for sale. I would guess $250-350 but really am not sure. I have the same, one from the 1970's and a Mark II Target that is a total tackdriver. Plus one of those little 22/45s with the plastic handle.

I can't say when it started either...I have one revolver without it and several with it. I still think it is one of the ugliest things they could do to a nicely finished pistol.

I also bought the 22/45. I'm no fan of polymer guns, but they are certainly here to stay.
My 22/45 has the slab side 8" barrel, but THANKFULLY is not marked as a 'Great Eight' . Luck or whatever, it is the smoothest out of the box 'common man' pistol I've ever purchased.

They started putting the warning on the barrels in 1977.
