Looking for a Stevens 940 20 gauge or just the barrel and stock for it. No idea about buying guns on the internet and a bit worried about it so any info would be great.

    Here's a buttstock:

    and here's a forend:

The parts you are looking for are just that, PARTS. Not considered a firearm by the ATF. The receiver, part with the serial number is what would have to be bought through a firearms dealer. You can buy all these parts you need, shipped to your door, just like if you bought a carburator for your car. Good luck[8D]

Oh Wow, parts are ordered and I cant thank you enough. I have been searching for days and you answered in minutes. One more stupid question. Any chance I can put this gun together? Looks like 1 pin on barrel, I have taken guns apart for cleaning and they still worked when I put them back together but that is about all I know, not sure if something has to be done to the barrel to make it fit or not.

If you go back and look at the pic of the barrel on Numrichs site, and look at the flat part under the rear end of the barrel. Do you see that small round cuttout on the front (muzzle end) of that flat part? That will hook on the pin going through the receiver. You will hook it with the barrel at the same angle as if it were open. Once hooked close the barrel to the receiver like normal. The forearm will simply snap in place and hold the barrel from being able to come off when it is in the open position.

Now you say you needed a stock earlier. If you mean you needed a forearm then the one you ordered from Numrich will just be the wood. You will need to order all the metal locking mechanism that goes in the wood too. You can look at a schematic and order any other parts needed by going here:

The forearm is on the screwed up barrel, hoping I can use the hardware on it and transfer it over to the new barrel. I didnt look at that much when I was checking it out to see what parts was needed, and I dont have the gun here with me so will have to go check that out tomorrow. Thanks again!

If they are in good shape, they should transfer over fine.

    Forgot to say, welcome earlier[8D]

If you run into any trouble or need more help just ask. There are a lot of good people here. Good luck
