Who made it?

I know I have a Western Field Deluxe, Model 50, 16 gauge, pump action, 5 shot cap, 28 inch full choke barrel, s/n 178xx.
Receiver is marked "Montgomery Ward & Co."
Barrel is marked "Browning Patent, 16 Ga Proof Tested"
Needs a new firing pin, but I can't find any cross reference list as to the manufacturer. Help, please.

I have a sears model 101.70 and don't know who made it. Does anyone know and also where is the serial number located. Thanks.

If there is a square hole in top of the receiver, where the bolt locks up. It's a Stevens 520. John Browning designed the 520 in the early years of the 20th Century. Stevens used his name as patentee on the barrel, as a marketing tool.

Yeah the westernfield 30 is the stevens 520. I have one upstairs.

Yes, it has a square hole in the receiver;and it's like the picture
of a Stevens 520 in the Numrich catalog.
