Does anyone know where, as in store not net, where I could buy dome desiccant bags for my gun safe? A lot of the net palces want to sell unteen hundred bags, I only want a couple.

    Check out Fisher Scientific. I'm at home now and don't have their catalog here. I think they have small quantity bags available.

    they sell this stuff in the grocery store here in florida under the name "damp rid" for use in closets.

    Unless you live in a very dry climate, dessicant bags are very chancy. Break down and buy one of the heat bars and sleep better. Why take a chance, for even inexpensive guns?

    I bought a gallon sized bucket of desciant from a hobby shop (the proposed use was for drying flowers). It works well in sucking up moisture, and I've re-generated it in the oven (250 F. for 6hr+).

    Unfortunately, I live in a humid environment. A quart plastic jar, perforated, will last 2 days in my safe. It will keep the contents of most ammo cans dry for about a month. Some cans look fine, but must not seal well and will turn the desicant in a couple of days.

    Go with JimmyJack's advice, it is the only thing that works around here.
