Were there any real problems with these? I know they changed the extractors but what was the problem with the way they were?
The reason I ask is beause I have a chance to buy a used one for $200. Not sure if it is the older model or not but wanted to know if I should pass if it was.

They changed the design because the hex bar stock that the slide was made from was no longer available, not because anything was wrong.

I have one of the first generation P3ATs and I have trouble stripping out the round in the chamber after pulling the clip out and trying to rack the slide. I eventually get the last round out the bottom since it will not eject in the normal way.

If you fire the pistol everything works just fine. I understood that the ejector was too small and they had some trouble getting rounds to eject. I have not experienced that problem while firing the gun only when trying to hand eject the chambered round. Go figure???

Even with the issues listed above, I carry the gun all the time, it fires without fail and it is accurate, lightweight and easy to conceal.

You can get a brand new one for 225-250. I really like mine, no problems as of yet. Carries concealed nicely.

They had some issues with something breaking inside, I don't know exactly what. A friend of mine had his jamb so that the trigger wouldn't activate. He called company and they fixed it ASAP. It was only on the very first run and the recommendation, as with all carry weapons, is to run 200 or so rounds to assure dependability before yu really need it. As I said, KelTec was VERY responsive, because they were aware of and wanted to get things right. The later runs didn't have the problem and as others have said, new, they are $265 or so.

I have an early one and advise taking the old one at $200. You can always sell it at a profit.
The major problem is the extractor. It needs to be replaced with the new design. When the barrel tilts down it drops below the extractor's grip. The replacement extractor has a projection extending downward to keep a grip on the case. This is a freebe from Keltec.
If you get the mag finger extension (recommended) also buy the metal mag catch sold by a member of the KTOG website because the plastic mag catch gives out.
The stock slide spring is a little on the feeble side. Wolff makes a stronger spring for the P32 which is heavier than the stock P3AT and improves feeding reliability.

Thanks for the input guys. Saw the pistol today and it's a newer model, only about a year old and shot very little. For an extra $20 I get the pocket holster and a bunch of ammo to. I'll pick it up tomorrow.
