Quick Release Mounts

Hey all,

I just purchased a set of Leupold quick release rings and mount. This is my first experience with these and after duing some studying they seem to be a great idea. Anyways, I have a quick question concerning how they lock in place. Should the lever go all the way forward to where it says "Lock" on the mount or roughly half way so they are almost standing straight up? My first thought was they should be by the "Lock" but I pushed on the lever pretty good and I couldn't get it to go down that far. I don't really want to reef on it anymore and risk breaking it until I get some expert advice here. Thanks in advance.

    Jon0322,

Most mounts such as this allow you to reposition the spring loaded lever by pulling it straight out from the mount and rotating it to the position that you choose then simply release the lever to fall into its new position. Since it's on a nut the angle of the nut will determine the exact position.

    Best.
