Holstein Drilling

Hi Everybody,
I know this is going to be a dumb question even before I ask it. I have a friend who is looking at a Holstein drilling. I know nothing about drillings except for their appearance. Here is their (not mine) description of the firearm:
"A GERMAN UNIVERSAL DRILLING RIFLE WITH 3 BARRELS DESIGNED WITH INLAYED GOLD ON EACH SIDE, MADE BY W.H. HOLSTEIN. THEY WERE ONLY IN BUSINESS THREE YEARS BECAUSE THE FACTORY WAS BURNED DOWN. THERE ARE SILVER AND GOLD INLAYS OF DEER ON BOTH SIDES. A HEAVY CARVED PLATE THAT OPEN UP WITH FOUR 4 BULLETS INSIDE AT THE BOTTOM OF STOCK . ALL OF THE HEAVILY CARVED PLATES ARE MADE OF SILVER. ALSO A TIGER GUARD AT THE BOTTOM OF THE STOCK."
No, I don't have any pictures and I am sorry for all the caps and I am not shouting at you (believe me).
I was just wondering if anybody knows anything about the company and the general value of their firearms.
Thank you.

What's it FOR? I see no mention of gauge and caliber, is it to be a showpiece only? If he means to use it, a 65mm 16 ga x 6.5mm Sauer or something even odder is going to be a lot less desirable than a 70mm 12 ga x 7x57R.
