    Hello All,

The firing pin in my P22 is broken. I can't seem to find a place where I can buy a new one.
It is part #266 09 38. Does anyone know where I can find one?

    Thanks!

Is there any type of break in period for these or can I shoot a few hundred rounds first time out without worry.

    Thanks

Purchased a new Walther P22 about a year ago. Looked like a sweet little plinker but nothing but trouble. Gun only has approximately 100 rnds through it and while it goes into full battery and functions the fireing pin, most rounds only have a small dent in primer area without functioning the round....before I return it to Walther...any ideas (yes the gun is clean!)

I recently purchased one and noticed it has tactical rails. Just for fun I want to mount a laser or light on it. Are there any made just for the Walther???

    Thanks

I saw an interesting little gun at the gun show today. It was a Walther P22. It had the 5" barrel. It looks just like a miniature P99. I'm really interested now. Anyone have anything to say good or bad?-Marcus

I'm interested in buying a Walther P22 and depending upon which gun store I'm and which clerk is waiting on me, opinions about the gun differ widely. Some say it's VERY AMMO SPECIFIC and will only accept higher end ammo. Others say it gobbles up everything loaded into it. I really don't want to buy a .22LR plinker that needs a special or expensive diet. My other choices (alternatives) would be a Ruger MKIII or a Ruger Single Six with .22LR & .22WMRF cylinders. Can anyone give me some insight into the P22's ammo? Much appreciated.

My p22 seems to be having some issues. The firing pin isnt hitting the back of the cartridge hard enough to fire. It misfires about every other time. Ive taken it apart and cleaned and lubed everything good. But it still does it. Are their any known problems with these guns? Help!!!!

I bought a Walther p22 a couple of years ago. I love the feel and the look. But, Ive had nothing but problems with it. It is very * about what ammo it will shoot. It will go through the first 10rd clip perfect. Then, it will only shoot about every other round. If you pull back the hammer and fire again on the same bullet. It will fire. I have taken apart, polished, properly lubed everything 10 times over. Any help would be appreciated. I dont really want to give it up. But a gun that isnt reliable, isnt worth having. Thanks

How accurate is a Walther p22?? Would this be a good purchase to plink with and possible conceal and carry, or would I get more BANG for my buck with something else??

    Hello All,

I would like to know if I can lessen the trigger pull. If so, how would I go about doing it?
Is there another trigger group I could buy, etc.

    Thanks!

I hope you get a lot of responce to this because I have the same problem. After about 20 rounds mine quit firing. Took it to my dealer and he sprayed the rear of the receiver around the hammer, wiped it off, and fired 6 rounds. He explained that that gun has an inertia type firing pin. The hammer loses contact with the firing pin before the pin hits the rim. I took it home and it quit after a few rounds.

I don't have dirty guns but cleaning after 6 or so rounds is crazy.
It's too late for me, save yourself.

    Had, Have same problem.
Mine is suppressed and gets dirty real quick...
Soaked in Kroil overnight, toothbrushed, air hosed off excess Kroil, re-oil with 3in1 oil lightly.
Have to do this about every 100-200 rounds.
Kroil is a solvent/rust breaker, sorta like Hoppes#9.

I had one for a time and had lots of problems also. Found it was not real fun to take apart for cleaning either. Sold it quickly and went back to Ruger.[:0][:0]

Seems like this subject comes up every couple of months. Half the responders love their gun, the other half has nothing but the problems you guys mention.

Mine works as it should except sometimes, not often, I have to push the slide forward when chambering the first round from a full magazine. (The slide goes forward, just not fully into battery).

No mis-fires, no failures to eject.

FWIW I shoot CCI Velocitors in it but that shouldn't have any effect on the problems you are mentioning.

I was just about to buy one. I owe you all. I like the Ruger but the .22's are a bear to disassemble. Any other choices?

I have had mine for about a year. I love mine!!! Have put atleast 10,000 rounds through mine. It jammed once on about the 300th round.
Besides that i have had no problems. Although i must have gotten a good one by the sounds of you guys.

I have one also, a early manufacture. Love it, no problems, a couple of feeding malfunctions but no gun rage from me. Five years and I've never had the slide off.

My p22 was the definition of POS. Twenty rounds clean and repeat. Went back to smith 422.

I have one also, and haven't had trouble except that they are picky on ammo. They like hi-velocity stuff, not target or standard velocity ammo. Mine is also suppressed so it does get pretty dirty, but that is very common with all suppressed guns.
