Can anyone give me any info on a lothar walther Adapter cartridge?
I have seen a ad on a different site for a adapter for a .22lr for a .221 remington. It showed a cartridge of a .221 and i am guessing the .22 lr fits in that case and is then shot through a .221, Right? Does anyone have any thing they can tell me about where you can find this item? Is it something that would be worth having?
Thanks Guys

I have a bunch of these conversions but mine are in pistols . most have what I will call a shell the outside is the size of the + cartridge of your gun 45acp 38special 222, 223, etc on the shell the center is drilled out to accecpt a smaller cartridge 22 short or 22long rifle and if your gun is centerfire then there is also a small plug that goes behind the rimfire bullet it has a TIT/fireing pin on one end and when your gun's fireing pin hits the plug it sets off the 22 on pistols there is a barrel insert I have ones for colt single actions that come with 6 of the cartridge inserts and for many auto pistols you get the nuber of inserts that the pistol holds in a magazine . Mine shoot great but slow to reload these inserts.

I bought one of these about ten years ago in .220
Swift to fire .22 LR. I wish I could give you the name and address of the maker but haven't a clue now. I got his name and address from an issue of Shotgun News. He makes them in a town in Alaska, I think Anchorage. They aren't cheap, ten years ago they cost $35 + shpg.
they work fine but are a little slow in use.

    trouttrue,

If you have to have a Lothar Walther adapter, you need to check with them either through Lothar Walther Precision Tools in Georgia or Lothar Walther.de in Germany. I have no listing for LW chamber adapters anymore.

Here is a manufacturer of what I think you want:

    http://www.mcace.com/adapters.htm

    CHAMBER ADAPTERS

Chamber adapters use the rifling in your firearm to stabilize the bullet. They are excellent tools for target practice and for downing small game, eliminating unnecessary meat destruction and the recoil of full power cartridges. Our adapters are made for rifles and, where indicated by the asterisk (*), the Thompson Contender. Adapters for the Thompson Contender ONLY are indicated by "TC" (they cannot be made with offset firing pin plug).

    Best.
