Should I buy this 96 swede?

I saw a 1907 CG 6.5x55 today in the store. 29" barrel, matching numbers on all I could see except front band. Missing cleaning rod and sling. 85% blue, 75% wood. Disc says #1 bore. They want $150. Good deal or not?

When you say 1907 I believe that it would be a Model 1896, and I would buy it in a heart beat if it has a decent bore.[:D]

I think what you are looking at is what olf fool says it is and you can find the small parts around a lot. Get it if you want one. That is a good price.

Yes! What you saw is a Model 96 (1896) made in 1907. The price is very good. Around here they bring about $250 and more. It is one of the best quality Mauser types you can buy.

If you don't want it...please tell me where it is!!! That is a nice price too be sure. Just paid close to $400 for an M96 dated 1899 Oberndorf. These are amongst the best Military rifles ever made, and will be around to pass on to your kids with a modicum of maintenance!

BUY IT! If you do, you just made $150-200 easily.

Clean it and shoot it. You will NEVER let it go. I have three...and always looking for more.
