BT-99 for-stock

Picked up a BT-99 at a gun show about a 1980 or so.....
Every time I fire it the front stock release lever comes down, as a matter of fact my son had the for-stock come off at one point.

One thing I should point out is the for-stock spring is way to tight, I have to push down hard on it to get it back on, there is a lot more resistance then I think there should be.

Now this is the first BT-99 I have owned and I'm not familiar with the mechanics of this gun, but I know some thing needs adjusted, So the screw at the end of the for-stock will not turn and the screws 3 inside are tight.

If one of you could in-lighten me I would be ever so grateful.

I'll bet either the 'hook' on the barrel lug is broken or the hook on the foren release lever is. I just looked at my bt100 (same/same as a 99)and that the only thing that it could be.

The lugs, barrel and stock look ok, but the cocking mechanism, the plunger on the bottom of the for-stock has a coil spring on it and it is very stiff, so stiff I have to push down hard on it,
    "the for-stock"
to get it back on the gun, there is a lot more resistance then I think there should be and I don't know if the screw on the front of the for-stock is the adjustment for it or not, I know it's tight and it wont turn ether way.

I'm hopping it can be adjusted.

The gun is old but it's a closet gun the guy that had it never shot it and mechanically its like new except for this problem.

I really wanted a BT-100 but a older BT-99 34" full, in this shape I couldn't pass it up, I just wish it had a removable and adjustable trigger, and adjustable comb, and adjustable recoil system, and shinny receiver with engraving and a nice hard case, and chock tubs, and and and ....lol

    I may need another gun...lol

"I may need another gun...lol"... DON'T WE ALL[:D]. IT MAY ALSO BE THAT THE TWO 'HOOKS' ARE NOT ENGAUGING EACH OTHER. THE SCREW IN THE END OF THE FOREND IS FOR HOLDING THE LATCHING MENCHNISM IN, IT SHOULD UNSCREW C.C.
