8X15X46 ? what size round is this and compair to standard round, please.
what is the recoil on this cal rifle, also average range, & vel.

Hello The 8.15 X46 was a target round used mainly in Germany and uses an odd size bullet and case The cases can be made out of 30-30 if you take a lathe and turn the rim . Many of the rifles were single shot but there were some bolt actions made . I don't believe any one makes ammo but I might be wrong . If you need more info go to my profile and email me . Karl.

The cartridge was used in competitions named 'schuetzen' in Germany and Austria. These were usually shot in either standing or kneeling positions from 100 to 200 meters. When German and Austrian immigrants arrived in America, they brought their shooting traditions with them. They have continued these competitions around America culminating today in the annual SchuetzenFest.

This round enjoys an enviable reputation of intrinsic accuracy at 100 - 200 meters and had the same niche in Central Europe (where it was quite popular) as the .32-40 did here around the turn of the Century.
