A friend of mine has a Winchester 64 in 30-30, and it is near 100 percent, and i believe it is one of the latter(1972-1973) produced. The serial number is 1328632, of which i can find no reference to. Does anyone have any idea when it was made or worth?

It is not one of the latter made Model 64s (those were actually a Model 64A, and were made in the early 1970s). Your friend was a Model 64 that was manufactured circa 1940. In addition to the graded condition, the value also depends upon which variant it is... e.g. a standard Sporting Rifle, or Deer Rifle (Deluxe).

    My 2 cents worth...
When your buying a gun, never tell the guy what you want to spend. He is selling it, make him give you a price. Then you can deternmine if it is worth that to YOU. Educate yourself on the value of the gun which you are doing. Also, get past sales by going to Completed Sale on the Gunbroker sight. But rule #1, never make the offer. In the end, if it looks nice or you really just like it, BUY IT. I really like this forum, but I see so many people saying, what is this worth. Good. But my question back would be, what do YOU THINK it is worth. There are responses today on the price for a Smith 19. So the experts ended up with everything from $250 to $425. That guy is more confused now than when he started. Lastly, if this guy is your buddy and you find out later you paid him a little too much, you can make him take you out for a beer. Good luck.
