All it has is the grip safety and trigger safety (like Glock). No manual safeties.

    Hello 7.62x39,

It is very similar to the Glock, with the addition of the backstrap safety.

The XD is also 100% cocked when you pull the trigger, the glock is about 80% from what I have read. Plus the triggers do feel different with teh Glock being the nicer one in my opinion.

Interesting..the XD feels better to me; the Glock is a bit "spongy" (due, perhaps, to the plastic trigger having more "give"), than the XD's trigger.

I'd take a XD over a Glock for the one reason that it has two safety systems instead of one. As it has been pointed out the XD has the triger and an grip safty, the Glock just has the triger.

thats why I went for a Steyr. It had a manual safety, but not a grip safety which annoys me.

The 1911 has had a grip safety for nearly 100 years. I have two XD's and don't mind the grip safety at all. You have to hold the gun in your hand to fire it anyway so you don't even notice the grip safety.

And I dont like 1911's either. John Browning himself did not want one, but the Army demanded it. Fora 45acp I would have a Baby Eagle, S&W 4506, or a Sig 220

OK, this is true but I still don't trust what I can't see or interact with, also I like the fact that the XD won't or should not go off if the trigger is pulled but the grip safety is not active. I like 1911s so naturally I like the XD grip safety. Also thanks for finding a mistake what I said. One learns from mistakes.
