I have Winchester Model 94, 30-30 and am interested in selling it. I'm not sure how old it is. The S/N is: 18342XX. Can you tell date of mfgr by S/N?

1952 is close enough. Plus/minus one year is as close as I can get on the post WW II Model 94s. The Polishing Room records only go up to roughly serial 1,350,500 (which was in the year 1945). Historical records show that serial number 1,500,000 was presented to then President Harry S. Truman on May 8, 1948, and 2,000,000 was presented to President Dwight Eisenhower in 1953.

That date makes sense. Rifle is in good condition with about 80% of the bluing intact. What is your estimate as to its worth?

    80% would be about $450 - $500.
