Now what do I shoot out of it?

I have never been a fan of inline muzzleloaders, but couldn't pass up a .50 Navy Arms Country Boy recently. Any gun for $70 that works is worth it, I figure, plus I have a bunch of .50 stuff from my recent 'box of junk' buy, including .50 cal preweighed 50 gr Pyrodex charges.

1:32 twist. So....what bullets work best in this beast? I plan on trying my existing supply of Pyrodex pellets, then switching to FFFG or FFG Goex. What charge would be about right for those? I'm thinking about 50 gr. for 50 yard plinking, 80 or so for hunting.

Round balls? Conical? Mini? Maxi? Sabots? All new to me. Thus far my muzzleloader experience is limited to traditional guns and patched round balls, or minies in civil war replicas.

for a easy load to start off with try 2 pellets of your pyrodex or triple 7 and a Power Belt 245 gr bullet , if it uses 209 primers try some of those winchester triple 777 , 209's ther're where made just for inlines

the others you'll just have to give them a try and see if it'll shoot them well

As gskyhawk says, that is the load. 90 percent of any in-lines or better will give more than acceptable results with these loads. Even those rated for 150 grains of charge, will perform to their best combination of power, accuracy, and efficiency with those loads. 777 is also available in granular form with FFg, and FFFg sizes. About 110gr.(volummeteric) of granular FFFg is the equivelant of 3 50 gr. pellets(there was a very good article in Deer, and Deer Hunting magazine's latest issue..March 2007). You will get about 63 loads per pound at the same price per pound as 100 pellets, of which you will only get 33 loads.
