Remington 597 in .22 LR

Opinions please.

Has anyone got any good or bad experiences of jamming etc in regard to the above autoloading rifle.

I have a remy 700 police and it is one hell of a good gun. Surely Remington haven't produced a lemon???

Buy somthing eles the 700 line is one heck of a rifle line but the 597's are hit and miss

I have owned 2 of these things and both were junk.couldent get them to cycle and they were not consistantly acurate plus never could find a brand of ammo that either of them liked. they feel really good to the shoulder but thats as far as it goes. JMHO

I I had a 597 that was extremely accurate. But the cheap plastic mags were for shyte. Remington claims to have improved their magazine problems by replacing them with pot-metal ones. Too late for me... I sold it to buy a scope.

I bought a 597 when they first came out. It's not my favorite .22 rifle, but it works very well. Not quite as reliable as a 10/22, but decent. Not the POS that some might think.

I have the 597 in .22 Mag and it has performed flawlessly for years.

Some have not had the same results.[:D]
