Winchester 42, what year?

I have 2 Winchester model 42, I have loaded some pics on Photo Bucket. The serial numbers are
83648 on one
123336 on the other. Can someone tell me the years these were made.....

the top gun with the rib is serial no. 83648.

only winchesters

Hello MTaylor: Sept 1949 and March 52 respectively for the machining of the receivers. Reasonable to assume the guns were completed within 6 months of the completion of the receiver machining.
