Can't find it in Blue Book

Remington 700 BDL Custom Deluxe 7MM rem. NIB and has synthetic stock, hinged floor magazine, and adjustable sights. Appears it is an older unfired version. It's listed on the auction side (item 71210028). Is it maybe a special run? Ideas on value?

    I don't believe it is.

Went to visit two gun dealers today. Neither of them could find this gun in blue book either. Both recommended contacting Remington. Sent remington an email.

No problem finding model 700 BDL with blued barrel, sights, hinged floor plate, and a wood stock. But, this gun has a black synthetic stock (similar to 700 SPS) and all the other features of the BDL. Maybe it's a NIB SPS with a BDL barrel.

    handye9,

I don't get involved in trying to assess values of firearms but I took a look at the Auction number you listed and I don't think that's an original Remington synthetic stock. It appears to me to be a cheap plastic Ramline replacement stock:

I could be wrong but I don't think so. You decide. NIB or not, I wouldn't think this rifle is worth the cost while it's missing the original BDL stock.

    Good luck with your decision.

    Best.

The info you provided makes me very curious as to what Remington is going to say. The picture of the aftermarket stock looks a lot like the one on the gun. If your assessment (aftermarket stock) is correct, I would agree that the gun can't be NIB and is overpriced. I do like the looks of the gun, but, don't want to pay more than it is worth. I appreciate your help.

Got an answer from Remington. You were right. That gun was not manufactured with a synthetic stock. Original stock was walnut. That's why I can't find it in the Blue Book.

    handye9,

I'm glad Remington got back to you with an answer even though it is probably a disappointment. You might try e-mailing the seller to advise him (or her?) of your findings and maybe they will re-list at a more attractive price.

As an aside, there are lots of BDLs still out there, maybe not from this time frame but just as serviceable. Good Luck!

    Best.
