I recently purchased a gun that I thought was a standard grade Model 70. The main reason I purchased the gun was because of its beautiful wood figure. The barrel says Winchester Model 70. It does have a "blind magazine"...and the swivels are not detachable. In fact, this gun was made in 1974 and is a Model 70A. Model 70A's were marked on the barrel Model 70. The gun new retailed for about $35 less than a regular standard grade Model 70. I LOVE the gun...it's wood looks like a Deluxe...and it is a little lighter wihout the floorplate.
