Im relatively new to high (or higher ) end rifles. How much does the caliber effect value? Few examples: A Deluxe Sako Foresters both in excelent condition , same scopes, mounts ETC. One is a .243 the other .308 ? An older Sako Varmint rifles: One is .223 the other 22-250?

Interesting. It seems that it is a lot easier to find a Forrester in 243 than a 308 ( there is none for sale at this time.)

In your comment of availability does ly a cost variance (supply and demand) collectors value or number manufactured. As to cost of present made firearms there is not much variance at all between calibers of a wide range (.22 - .375) It takes the same amount of time and materials to make any caliber of the same models. High end normally means fine tuned or accurized which requires more time no matter what caliber it is.
