Hello, folks. As I have stated, I am looking for a descent rifle. However, I just can't find a company which makes the rifle for the PRICE that I want.
1. PTR-91. A superb, top of the line weapon. 1000 bucks
2. V-93. I heard a LOT of good things about them. 1200 bucks
3. DSArms FAL. I heard SUPERB things bout them - 1400 bucks
4. Armalite AR180B. Heard good things, costs $700 bucks. Good price.

The problem is that 308 ammo is getting expensive, while 223 remains affordable.

Do you know who makes FAL and FNC copies besides Enterprise and DSArms?
Do you know who makes HK copies in 308 and 223 besides PTR91 and Vector arms?

Does COharie arms makes an HK33 clone? If so, how come I can't find coharie arms online?

I don't know of anyone who has actually built working FNC's besides FN. At least one company failed miserably, and has yet to make good on their problems.

AR-180B's are OK if you are into plastic, I would look for an older AR-180 if I wanted one though.

An FNC is not an FAL, not even close, made by the same company, but no parts interchange.

Entre'prise FAL's are hit or miss, one might be fine, the next will be a monkeyed together train wreck.

DSA guns usually require a little tweaking to get them to run 100%, it usually involves polishing the underside of the feed rails.

There is a large "Cottage Industry" in building custom FAL's, many build exceptional products that are as good or better than DSA. Arizona Response Systems comes to mind, as does Sledgehammer, and Moses at CMP armory.

Check out the market place over at FALfiles.com, always some nice rifles for sale for well under $1000.

A fried bought a Vector-93 a few weeks back. Nice looking rifle, after a few 100 rounds it finally started running well. Mags are very expensive @$40-60 each.

Check out the ATR-1 . Its 223, based on FAL (many parts interchange) and uses AR15 mags...
