    No embarrassment, and not it isnt'.

    9mm Luger == 9x19 == 9mm NATO == 9mm Parabellum

    9x21 is more like 9mm Largo (but they aren't the same either).

    NO, the 9 x 21 caseing is approximately 2mm = .080 longer, then the 9mm.

    It was designed in Italy?, as a way to get around the Italian gun laws that prohibited civilians from using firearms that were chambered for "Military" ammo.

    Same caliber(diameter)? - yes
    Same cartridge? - no

    The dimensions you see written as " 9 x 21 " reads "nine by 21" it's stated in millimeters.
    9mm bullet diameter
    21mm case length

    Your standard 9mm Luger is 9x19.

    There are multiple 9mm rounds.....

    Your most common ones are known as...

    -9x19 is called the 9mm Luger, 9mm Parabellum, 9mm Para, 9x19 NATO
    -9x18 - is the 9mm Makarov or 9mm PM
    - the 380ACP, 380 Auto, 9mm Browning Court, 9mm Short is measured as 9x17. AKA 9mm Browning, 9mm Kurz, 9mm Corto

    There are SEVERAL others that have not seen popularity.
    Half of the lives they tell about me aren't true.
