What diameter spread should be expected from a 12 gauge 20" cylinder bore with bird shot (#9 for example) at 25 yards?

    Shot size makes no difference. Would depend on the kind or type of shells you are using.

    Thanks Henry. Useful info. I my 97 Win 30" full at 25 yards with #9 and it put almost all in a 15" circle. Fired my 97 Win 20" that I had put a jug choke in and it put almost all in a 30" circle. My guess that compares pretty close to a mod. I should have patterned it before I put in the choke but due to rain and my impatience I didn't. I'm going to do a little more jugging and check it again. Thanks to all who give useful & thoughtful info.
