Serial number indiactes a gun manufactured
about 1911. There should be a letter stamped
on the water table-*A through F*.
The receiver was originally case colored-thus
the gun has been altered from original condition.
I also suspect the 26" barrels on a .12 Ga. but
possible. You will need to post some photos for
further evaluation but being altered from original
condition it is not collectable. A letter may be obtained
from John Callahan which will describe the gun as originally
manufactured.

I believe it's safe to say that the gun is not in the collector class. Thus, it's a shooter. A refinish will make little difference in value as such, but the tubes and the stock could still be an issue.
Without photos and a reasonably good idea about the tubes and stock I'm forced to place the gun in the $350.00 range. This assuming all is mechanically sound and the gun safe to fire.
I'd add some if the tubes are choked... Probably at least $100.00. The stock? All depends on the soundness of the component. The finish? You can't reasonably reverse what's been done.
Had your gun survived a century in unaltered condition, then my estimate might be much different. The problem being that alterations invariably place the gun away from collector interest. In doing so there's little difference between a Stevens double and a Fox double (or any other) as they've merely become an instrument for tossing a load of shot.
Im hoping to be able to price it @ apx. $450.00-500.00 range and or trade it for something in a 20 ga. (either SxS 0r O/U)???
with a little more info Im going to list it on G.B. and see what happens ...
Thanks !!!

(has been blued) with that and the minor stock issues he claims I should list it and be o.k. @ the $500-700 range ??? so as soon as I can get some photos , will list it , just hoping to be able to get a nice shooter (as a replacement) in a 20 gauge (either SxS or O/U)???
or enough cash to just order one (maybe a Mossberg or ???)......
Wish me Luck !
Thanks !
