What scope for a Marlin 1894?

I got that new 1894 and love it, it groups pretty well, but is somewhat inconsistant from group to group. I'm not a big fan of the factory iron sights.

SO.....since I get a decent discount on scopes I decided I might as well scope it.

I'm thinking a 2-7x32 or something like it.

Maybe a Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40 or 32?

What says ya'll?

I had a 1.5 x 5 x 28 on mine worked really well , I would think a 2x7 would be fine , the 3x9 unless its a compact might be to big , i think it would look at of place

Do not put a big scope on that riffle or it will look silly. A 4 is plenty nuff scope for that riffle.

What about a 2-7x Burris Shortmag?

The short mag scopes are great scopes, as well as not weighing too much. I just recently put a straight 4X on my 1895 and I really like it.

I have a Williams peep sight on mine that I like really well.
I used to recruit for the NRA until they sold us down the river (again!) in Heller v. DC. See my auctions (if any) under username henryreilly

I think that 2-7 short mag would be ideal

Hey Cubs, c'mon.....a scope on a rifle like that just looks wrong! Try one of these sights instead....

.....at least it'll still look like a lever-action, instead of a rifle with a spotlight on it! [;)][:D]

For the record, I've ordered other stuff from this guy, but not these sights (yet). And, I'm in no way associated or affiliated with him, just using his product as an example of what would look right (to me, anyway) on a Marlin lever-action.

Big Al (probably the only reason I haven't ordered these sights yet, is I'm still trying to count up how many I'd need for my lever-actions! [:0][;)][:D] )

I had a Weaver 3-10 x 40 on my 94 Cowboy, but it didn't look right. I replaced it with a Marbles tang sight--shoots just as good.
