The overall graded condition is "Fair" (NRA modern grading standards). There is very little original case colors left on the frame, the barrels are plum/brown, the buttstock appears to be refinished, and it was cutdown for the aftermarket recoil pad.
Lastly, it is chambered for an obselete 2-7/8" shell (you can not shoot this gun with modern 10 gauge shotshells).
Because it has been messed with, it is no longer a "collector" grade gun. Because it is chambered for obselete shells, it is no longer a "shooter". End result... not worth much $$$ (maybe $250).

is there any safe way to lengthen the chamber?
Yes, but No. Yes, the chambers could be lengthened, but it would not be safe to shoot 3.5" shells in that gun.
The Ithaca Flues Model was not noted for being an overly strong frame, and it definitely was not made to handle the pounding that shooting modern 10 gauge shells would impose upon it.

There aren't many marks on this one. There is a letter F above the number 10 and the nitro proof mark on the bottom of the barrels.

It is a Field grade (bottom of the line gun).

There are a few rough tough Cowboy Action Shooters who would find a home for a sound if messed with 10 bore, and would probably pay more than $250.
Doubtful in my opinion... you have to factor in the additional cost of having the forcing cones lengthened after paying $250 for the gun + $30 or so in shipping. That said, we will see what it actually sells for once LF lists it[:)].

I just haven't seen any of these and wondered what I had here. The book doesn't give much to go by as far as what the difference is...so I was at a loss.
Since there aren't any to compare it to I have no idea what it will bring. I know about what it will do in the store, but as far as on line goes....who knows?
Bert....thank you very much for your info. I forgot to thank you earlier, I really appreciate your time and knowledge of guns.
You are quite welcome[:)].
