Question About Winchester Lever Actions

If you hold a Winchester lever action by the forearm vertically does it move slightly up towards the muzzle? Does it slide a bit?

Tighten the forearm screw.

No, it should not move. As duckhunter suggests, check the forearm cap screw if it is a rifle and the forearm band screw if it is a carbine, but don't over tighten. Also, make sure the screw, cap/band, as well as the wood are in good condition and correct for your gun.
