Greetings,
Just bought a Frontier Scout, .22 Magnum, circa '60s.
Can I swap cylinders should I find a .22lr for sale?
Would I need special crane bushings or crane?
Thanks in advance.

I only say this because I took a 22 Mag round an laid it up against my scout, and the cylinder isn't long enough for a 22 Mag.
It may be my particular pistol. My dad gave it to me in 1968. It has an 'aluminum' frame and a 5" heavy (7/8 " dia) bbl.
All Colt cylinders should be marked as to what cartridge it was made to accomodate. I would not attempt to fire a .22 LR cartridge in a cylinder made for a .22 Magnum, or vice versa.
The reason I asked is that a lot of Scouts are "convertible" and come with dual cylinders. These are very expensive today, like this one listed:

Mine came w/no box and only the .22magnum cylinder.
I'm not sure if all Scouts are convertible or just a certain model.
Thanks for the help.
