Anybody have any experience with the H & R model 12's from the CMP program, how do they shoot? how accurate are they using hyper velocity ammo?

The rifles were sold about 5 years ago and are target grade with standard velocity ammo HOWEVER very few guns will shoot ANY HYPER VELOCITY[xx(] ammo as well as match grade standard velocity I think it should be called HYPE ammo. IMHO if you want higher velocity go with one of the 17 calibers or 22 MAG note don't even think about rechambering the 22 to 22 mag bore size is different[V][V]

Hello A number of years ago ? on exactly when the DCM/CMP must have bought a large number of target guns H&R Marlin Reminginton 541X and Kimbers along with many of the old stock of Mossburg 44B and Rem 513 Win 52. Many of these guns were loaned to GUN CLUBS I think about the time federal funding went away the CMP started selling these at the store in Camp Perry OHIO Many were new in the box and I know for a fact the Kimbers were in a plastic sleeve . When it came time to inventory the plastic sleeve was cut with a box knife to check serial numbers and every stock had a Knife cut from one end to the other.[:0][:(!][xx(][V] as far as how you rifle will shoot . I don't see any of the top small bore shooters using them but like any match 22 rifle or pistol ammo plays a big part on how your rifle will shoot Not only brand of ammo but LOT numbers within each brand. Look at Champions Choice www.champchoice web site and you will see the brands and types of match grade ammo seem endless. Good luck and again HYPE /HYPER ammo for the most part is not the way to go. Cheers Karl
