Sears 50 cal Hawken

I recently bought a Sears 50 cal Hawken rifle that was manufactured in Japan by Miroku. My knowledge is quite limited in the blackpowder arena; it seems like a decent rifle in almost new condition. Does anyone know the quality of this rifle? The value of it?

Thanks

I will hazard a guess, first telling you there is a book of Black powder gun values, that may include your rifle if you can find a copy. Bug me and I will dig mine out and check it.

Miroku builds quality firearms and while I did not know they built black powder, and have never heard of this on, I will wager the quality is quite decent. Essentially no Sears branded fire arms are valued as anything other than as shooters, there is scant collector interest. I would expect a percussion Hawken to sell in roughly the range that used TC Hawkens sell in, perhaps a bit less. Prices on those are regional, where I am $125 to $150 each would buy all you can carry.

I have a Tennessee Mountain Rifle from Dixie Gun Works that was made by Miroku. They make top quality guns.
