Can anyone give me any information on a 20ga o/u Silver Snipe III. It looks like a Beretta but i can`t find the Beretta name anywhere on it. All i can find is the name JL Galef & Sons. It was made in Italy in the mid 1960`s as far as i can find out. No one has been able to give me any for sure answers on this gun. Is there any way i can tell for sure who made this gun and it`s value. It has never been fired and it is in brand new condition. I took it out of the original box. Thank you

I found something else on the shotgun. Just above where it says made in Italy it also says LT Imports Chicago, ILL 2 3/4" & 3" Mag.

Silver Snipe shotguns were also made by a Italian manufacturer named Zoli, according to my reference. If it doesn't have the Beretta name on it, chances are it was made by Zoli. My 2?.

The manufacturer can also be identified by the proof marks. The Italian proof houses used a code to show the date of proof. If the proof date is in the 50's/60's time frame, most likely Beretta was the manufacturer. If it dates to the 80's, Zoli.

Balderson's 3rd edition, Guide to Gunmarks, says Galef, J. L. & Son- Currant importer of sporting arms in New York City.....Both ZOLI and BERETTA made the Silver Snipe...If You can locate a Baldersons Official Guide to Antique and Modern Firearms Seventh Edition, Page 242/243......
