FIRST AUCTION SOLD NOW WHAT ??

Sold our first firearm (receiver) at the auction. I have received payment and a signed copy of a FFL holer. I checked it and it is good.
Now do I send the receiver to the holder? If so what info needs to be in the box with the receiver so the FFL holder knows what to do with it?

Thanks Rodney

Print a copy of the auction (write the buyers name and phone so the dealer has not excuse to know whose it is), make a copy of your drivers license, put it with the reciever and ups insured to his ffl. give the buyer the tracking # , so he will not have to hound everybody

Hopefully, you indicated in your description that the receiver would come from a nonlicensee. If not, now is the time to ask the buyer if his FFL is willing to accept delivery from a nonlicensee.

Generally, an FFL will request a photocopy of a nonlicensee's drivers license, which is reasonable. That way, he can be certain that the information he enters in his bound book is accurate.

Once past that, pack your receiver well, & include the copy of your drivers license & a brief note to the FFL with the buyer's name, address, & phone number.

Mail it from your local post office, Priority Mail insured. Do not tell the clerk what is in your package; just answer the "4 questions" accurately: "No, no, no, & no." You do not need to declare the contents of your package. That's it.

Or, you can ship it UPS or Fedex, but you must ship from a company customer counter, not a packing store. And, you must declare the contents & be prepared for the clerk to give you a lot of grief.

I was planning on sending it by priority mail. Is that allowed?
