Looking for a chamber insert for a .308 to a 7.62X25 and / or a 7.62X39.
Does anyone sell them?
I can't seem to find a supplier [?]

    Hi,
I'm trying to remember the name for a chamber insert which allows one to chamber and fire a smaller cartridge in a firearm; E.G. a 32 auto in a 308 rifle or 22LR in a 223.
    Thanks,
    John Pickett

Or are you looking to buy one? If buying, there's a guy in Alaska that makes 'em.

And a beautiful job he does. They're not cheap. I bought a .220 Swift adaptor to .22 LR about ten years ago and it was $35 plus postage but well worth it.

John - I'd think that 22 mag would be better than 22lr - same bullet diameter as your 220 swift, or 223, etc. (224 vs 221 IIRC)

Edit - don't want to wast a last post in a AtE thread...

John - if you are close in, then take a look at the Aguila/Colibri ammo for your uses... :)

    Hello,
And Welcome aboard , these seem a little silly , if you cant afford the ammo or dont want the recoil/noise , then sell it and go another direction , but on the flip side , I have made some of these for shot-guns so to shoot other (smaller gauges) shot-shells and some in pistol calibers , just as 'pratice projects' on a lathe ???
    Thanks !!!

Iwannausername - You're probably right. I live a little outside town but several houses closeby. I thought the .22LR report might not irritate the neighbors. I just use (used) the adaptor to get the crosshairs close to the bull when changing scopes or loads. Looking back now I probably would have gone with the WRM.
