98 mauser shotgun

just picked up a 12ga shotgun that looks like the 98 mauser,has a 27"barrel,stamped nitro on the barrel and germany on the reciver,has a fixed clip and the numbers are 827.is there any value to these,i hope i didn't get took.

just make sure the bolt head is in place before firing it, this piece is held in by the extractor and is not to difficult to loose. the shotgun can be fired without it with not so good results[:0]

I have one as well and the above advice is right on. Also be sure to use only light field loads such as target or dove and quail loads in them. The rear safety lug is all that engages and locks the action.
