I have an old shot gun I am seeking info on.
It's a side by side 12 Ga. with 30" barrels and double triggers.
On both sides of the reciever it is engraved with a bird dog.
On the top of the reciever under the left barrel it is stamped "40XXX PAT'D", and under the right barrel it's stamped "12"
On the top of the left barrel it is stamped "Western Arms Corp., Ithaca, N.Y." between two arrows.
On top of the right barrel it is stamped "Long Range Gun" between two arrows.
On The bottom of the left barrel it is stamped "LLH" "4 + 40XXX".
On the bottom of the right barrel it is stamped "LLH" "2 +2 3/4 chamber".

583 2025 12 guage". Can anyone tell me more about this gun? Who made it, when it was made, or are parts still avialable?

Depending on the gun, it could be Crescent, Stevens, possibly H&A, and even a Belgian product. All pretty much utility grade at best. Not very expensive then and not very valuable today.
