anybody used an african Vektor SP1/SP2 Pistol?

I'd heard that earlier CP1 models were junk.
But because of that and to save the Vektor Company reputation, they retooled the new models SP1/SP2 after really good sturdy Berettas and started importing into US again. It is supposed to be very solid and reliable, but with a slightly different look and flare.

Does anyone know about the South African Vektor SP1/SP2 Pistol? (which sell new for $350)

CP1s were recalled, because of flaws, and never produced again....But not the SP1 or SP2, right?

    Or have these too?

Oh, my bad I was thinking of that cp1
the sp1s aremore like a beretta.
Why dont you get a different typ of pistol like a .22 target one or a .44 mag revolver, that would do different things than a .40

Believe me, I wouldn't even pay $350 for one, unless I get some good reports from people who have them.

But as a kind of collector, I want "out-of-the-mainstream" dependable handguns. And having those be "unusual" for only $350 is a plus for me. And again, I'm going to be reloading only 40 cal. hoping after gathering about 4 or 5 thousand casings....I hope never to buy new factory ammo again(for a number of years anyway, until the casings wear out).

I try to keep the prices lower, because here in Texas, if a handgun is used in totally correct, warranted self-defense situations....the firearm is confiscated and destroyed by the law enforcement agency with jurisdiction(never to be returned to it's owner again). So, I'd rather not lose a high dollar pistol from that asinine policy.

THAT gripes me no end, but is true here in Texas

I just thought you already had like 4 .40s
cdnn sells those Vectors sometimes. They are different and pretty cool looking, I have never heard any feedback on this model.

That sucks about the gun destroying, they don't do that in GA, thought Tx was not that screwy[:o)]

I was just saying If I had 4 .40s, I would get a .22 like ruger gov't mkII, for lotsa cheep practice and plinking fun.
Also, keep in mind cdnn also sells trade in berettas and glock for that price, and those will be easier to find parts for

Yes, I now have even more 40 cal. self-defence semi-autos.
They are all made by different manufactures and countries on purpose for my collection. And 40 cal is my true preference because reloading will be straightforward and same for all my pistols....which I all shoot every chance I get.

Thanks, but I have no desire for .22, 9mm, .45s. or any other caliber. I want the ammo simple, just 40 cal only....but by all different types, sizes and different makers.

Well, unless I find more personal positive feedback on this newly made and imported pistol, I'll just look at others. And I also have found that buying through the mail, used or new,....once the transfer fees of the FFLs take their cuts, with shipping, insurance, etc....I generally can special order on sale from my local gun shops for less, with no long lag time before I hit the range with it.
