Any 40 cal. with 5" barrel in a less than 8"frame?

I ONLY buy 40 cal semi-autos for reloading simplicity, so am only asking for a 40 caliber pistol here, please.

Does anyone make a good reliable semi-auto pistol with less than an 8" frame, and have a 5" barrel?

Is it physically impossible?
Are there any out being mage out there?

By 8" frame do you mean, a 5" bbl pistol with a total length of less than 8"?

    If so, CZ's 75 sports a 4.7" barrel and an 8.1" frame.

If you don't have a CZ, get one, they'll quickly become one of your favorites.
Half of the lives they tell about me aren't true.

hey 1st timer, for your 1911 have you thought about getting a .22?

Why would I want a .22 if all I'm loading is 40 cal. and my true preference?

Thanks...8.1" and 4.7" are fairly close. But I really am wanting to know if there is a true Under 8"(even slightly) framed 5" barreled semi-auto made (that is good)?

I'll go with what cubslover says about the CZ 75. Unless you are willing to sacrifice half an inch and go with the CZ 40B(looks like a 1911) or a CZ 40P Cubs and I each own one and so far as he tells me we both love 'em('cause I certainly do too).

If not that route look into the S&W line. They have a lot of variations of the .40 cal. -good luck.

Hello 1st timer if you put a 1911 grip safety on a 1911A1 and use A 40 S&W top half on a 1911A1 I believe you will meet your spec.

    Yes, I'll want a 40 caliber.
    Which make of 1911A1, please?
(a half inch doesn't seem like much, but I still would like less than an 8" handgun...I know I'm being picky...but it is a preference, please.

OK, I guess those specs were unrealistic.

So, I'm going with a CZ 75B, which is pretty close and really good in quality/accuracy/durability.

I may try a 1911 later, but have wanted a Czech pistol for a good while.

    thanks for your suggections, guys
