I just bought 2 Frontier Scouts and would like to know the approx. year of manufacture.

.22 magnum, 4 3/4" barrel, blued. Serial #8523xF

.22 lr, 4 3/4" barrel, "Oregon Trail" edition. Serial #1107xT.
I was told by the previous owner that the Trail was made in '65.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks rufe-snow. I've been on this site before but never saved it. I now bookmarked it for future reference.

I noticed that there is no info for any of the numerous special editions of the Scout.

From the list, am I correct that my Scout 8523xF was made between '59 and '60? Thanks again.

Hi dolfan. Yes, your F Series Scout was made in 1959, (numbers shown in the chart denote the first serial numbered frame made in that year). Also, the previous owner was correct in that your Oregon Trail edition of the Scout was made in 1965 - Re: Standard Catalog of Firearms for Colt Commeoratives.
